A special note to our visitors about Holy Communion.
Holy Communion is celebrated on the first, third, (and if applicable) fifth Sunday of each month, as well as on major Christian festivals.
While we are excited to have you worship with us we must explain our practice regarding Holy Communion. Lutherans practice what is called "Close Communion," which has lead to some unintentional hurt feelings from those who felt that they were being excluded simply because they were not members of Trinity.
We believe that Scripture teaches that the Lord's Supper is a precious gift of God in which Christ gives us His true body and blood (in a miraculous way), together with the bread and wine, for the forgiveness of our sins and the strengthening of our faith. Because the Bible teaches that this sacrament may also be spiritually harmful if misused, Lutherans ordinarily communes only those who have been instructed in the teachings of our church and who have confessed their faith in these teachings.
It is not our wish to deny the Sacrement of the Alter to any true believer. If you will be visiting Trinity, and wish to partake of Holy Communion, please make your wishs known to one of the pastors prior to the start of the service and they will be glad to discuss the mater with you.
